First time volunteers have a lot to think about.  For your convenience Light of Africa has prepared a Volunteer Manual chock full of helpful advise and policies to help you get the most out of your time in the field.  This valuable manual has good suggestions regarding packing, information on the area where you will serve and even some language lessons and ministry policies on the foreign field.  You will want to read the information carefully and prayerfully to best prepare for your trip.

As a Board Policy, each participant 18 years and older, must sign the Liability Waiver.  After reading the document, sign it, and mail the original to the USA ministry address.  This must be on file with Light of Africa prior to your leaving your home country. It is a good idea to leave a copy of the waiver along with a copy of your passport at home in a safe place or with a safe person.  Should a person have any health issues, it must be disclosed in writing and sent in with the signed waiver (allergies, special needs, special medications, etc.).

Any person under 18 years of age will need to seek approval by their parents/guardians and the Board for Light of Africa.  Please contact the USA address for information regarding these policies.
